MOTORISTS will pay five sen less a litre for RON97, unsubsidised RON95 and unsubsidised diesel from tomorrow, with the reductions bringing their prices to RM4.25, RM3.77 and RM4.67 respectively.
The new prices, effective from Sept 3 to 9, were set under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM).
The Finance Ministry (MOF) said the reductions reflected lower global crude oil prices for most of the price calculation period, although prices rose towards the end amid heightened geopolitical tensions in West Asia. These factors are expected to keep fuel prices volatile in the near term, the ministry said.
BUDI95 recipients will continue paying RM1.99 a litre for RON95, compared with the unsubsidised price of RM3.77. The Government is absorbing RM1.78 a litre, equivalent to 47 per cent of the unsubsidised price.
BUDI Diesel recipients will continue paying RM2.10 a litre for diesel against the unsubsidised price of RM4.67, with the Government providing RM2.57 a litre in subsidy, or 55 per cent of the unsubsidised price.
Subsidised prices under the relevant control schemes remain at RM2.05 a litre for petrol under SKPS and RM2.15 for diesel under SKDS.
Eligible Malaysians can continue purchasing subsidised RON95 and diesel through BUDI95 and BUDI Diesel using their MyKad, subject to monthly entitlement limits.
The basic monthly entitlement was restored to 300 litres for both BUDI95 and BUDI Diesel from Sept 1.
Eligible diesel pickup and four-wheel-drive owners will receive an additional 100 litres, bringing their monthly entitlement to up to 400 litres. - September 2, 2026
