SERIAN in Sarawak remained the only area in Malaysia with unhealthy air quality this morning, recording an Air Pollution Index (API) reading of 147, according to APIMS.
The reading at the Serian District Police Headquarters (IPD Serian) falls within the 101-200 range classified as unhealthy.
Air quality in this range can affect sensitive groups, including children, the elderly and people with respiratory problems.
Residents in the affected area are advised to reduce outdoor activities and wear face masks when necessary to minimise exposure to polluted air.
The latest API readings are available through APIMS, managed by the Department of Environment (DOE). - September 28, 2026
