SEVERAL of the 10 former Negeri Sembilan executive councillors were at the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council (MAINS) headquarters in Seremban today to have their statements recorded by police.
Former EXCO member and Linggi assemblyman Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli and Palong assemblyman Datuk Mustapha Nagoor arrived at about 10.05 am, followed by Serting assemblyman Fairuz Isa at 10.21 am.
The statement-recording process is believed to have been conducted by the Classified Criminal Investigation Unit (USJT) of Bukit Aman’s Criminal Investigation Department.
The process was previously expected to begin at about 11 am.
Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim was at the premises, while former Juasseh assemblywoman Datuk Bibi Sharliza Mohd Khalid was also seen there.
However, it was not immediately clear why Ismail and Bibi Sharliza were at the premises or whether they were also involved in the statement-recording process.
The scope of the police investigation has not been disclosed.
The appointments of the 10 EXCO members were previously withdrawn with the consent of Negri Sembilan Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.
The palace said the 10 had breached their oath of office and pledge of allegiance to the state ruler, which they took on Aug 7.
The withdrawal followed a joint statement issued by the 10 EXCO members that was alleged to have affirmed the purported removal of Tuanku Muhriz as the state ruler. - September 28, 2026
