TWO female students were killed and another seriously injured after the motorcycle they were riding on collided with a car in Taman Perpaduan Ria, Tambun in Ipoh today.

The three students were travelling together on a Yamaha EZ115 motorcycle on their way to school when it was involved in a collision with a Proton Saga, according to the Perak Fire and Rescue Department.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the department received a distress call about the crash at 7.22am.

“Upon arriving at the scene, the motorcycle carrying the victims had collided with a Proton Saga.

“As a result, two of the victims were confirmed dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel, while another sustained serious injuries,” he said.

Sabarodzi said the injured student received initial treatment from Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) personnel, who fitted her with a cervical collar before she was taken to hospital for further treatment.

“The injured victim was then taken to hospital for further treatment,” he said.

The bodies of the two students were handed over to police for further action.

The operation, involving three firefighters and an EMRS vehicle, ended at 8.33am. - October 2, 2026
