POLICE in Port Dickson have arrested a lorry driver found to be over the legal alcohol limit following a fatal head-on crash that claimed the life of a 35-year-old father and left his wife and young daughter injured.

The 46-year-old driver was detained at the scene after his vehicle lost control, veered into the opposite lane, and struck a Perodua Myvi carrying the family of three at Kilometre 13.5 of Jalan Lukut-Sepang at approximately 6:50pm yesterday.

Port Dickson District Police Chief Superintendent Ahmad Afiq Mohd Adnan confirmed that the car driver died at the scene from severe injuries, while his 32-year-old wife and five-year-old daughter sustained injuries and were rushed to Port Dickson Hospital.

"The lorry driver escaped uninjured. Preliminary urine tests returned negative results; however, a breathalyser test revealed blood alcohol levels exceeding the permitted limit," Ahmad Afiq said in a statement today.

"All victims were transported to Port Dickson Hospital for further action," he added.

The suspect is being investigated under Section 44(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving under the influence of alcohol resulting in death. Police confirmed that a remand application is being submitted this morning as investigations proceed. - October 3, 2026
