AN investigation paper (IP) relating to a police report lodged by businessman Datuk Seri R. Jeyenderan concerning the alleged disclosure of an official document is currently being reviewed by the Selangor Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Lawyer Muniandy Vestanathan, who is representing Jeyenderan, said his firm had received a letter dated Aug 28, 2026, signed by Selangor Criminal Investigation Department chief SAC Zulkarnain Samsudin concerning the status of the investigation.

According to Muniandy, the letter stated that the IP had been referred to the Selangor Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office on July 28, 2026, for advice and further instructions.

“The letter stated that the IP was sent to the Selangor Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office on July 28, 2026, for advice and further instructions, and is currently under legal review by the office,” he said in a statement.

Muniandy said the letter indicated that the investigation was being conducted under Section 203A of the Penal Code, concerning disclosure of information, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

“My client made the report on Sept 3 last year, and we have been waiting for a response. We are therefore seeking an update on the current status of the case and whether any further instructions have been issued by the DPP’s Office,” he said.

Jeyenderan, the chief executive officer of Maritime Network Sdn Bhd, lodged the police report at the Ampang Jaya District Police Headquarters on Sept 3 last year concerning the alleged disclosure of an official document by social media personality Caprice, whose real name is Ariz Ramli.

The allegations have not been established in court, and the investigation remains subject to the relevant legal and prosecutorial processes.

The police investigation is separate from civil proceedings involving Jeyenderan and Ramli.

According to Muniandy, the civil proceedings are scheduled to commence in February 2027 at the Kuala Lumpur High Court.

No finding of criminal wrongdoing has been made in relation to the police investigation yet, which remains under review by the Selangor Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office. – October 3, 2026
