A FOREIGN national who allegedly stabbed two siblings during a home invasion in Taman Sri Bintang, Kepong, on Tuesday has been remanded for seven days to facilitate police investigations.

Sentul District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Anuar Bakri Abdul Salam confirmed that the suspect will remain in custody until October 7.

He stated that investigators have recorded statements from five witnesses, including an associate of the suspect, while formal statements from the victims, their family members, and the suspect will be documented today.

In the incident at 5.04am on September 29, police were alerted to a break-in at a residential property.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered fire damage outside the house and found two injured victims—a man and his sister—suffering from stab wounds.

Police subsequently searched the upper floor of the residence and apprehended the foreign suspect inside a room, recovering a knife used in the assault.

Preliminary investigations indicate that jealousy may have motivated the attack after the female victim re-established contact with her former partner.

The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons and Section 435 for mischief by fire. - October 4, 2026
