PAKATAN Harapan (PH) has yet to formalise any decisions regarding political pacts or electoral alliances for the upcoming Melaka State Election, with all potential arrangements pending approval from its presidential council.
PH Communications Director Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil confirmed that the coalition's top leadership has not reached a final consensus on its strategy or potential coalition partners for the state poll.
"So far, nothing has been finalised, and no decisions have been made at the Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council level. Not yet," Fahmi said when met after the Public Discourse Conference on the 13th Malaysia Plan in Kuala Lumpur.
Fahmi's comments come amid heightened political speculation following a recent closed-door dinner meeting in Melaka between senior leaders from PH and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
Key figures in attendance included Bersatu Information Chief Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, Bersatu Melaka Election Director Datuk Seri Mohamad Ali Mohamad, and Associate Wing Chief Datuk Seri R Sanjeevan.
The meeting fuelled intense discussions over potential electoral pacts as political parties begin aligning strategies ahead of the Melaka state election.
Concurrently, Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi indicated that BN remains open to holding discussions with PH to explore potential cooperation for the upcoming election. - October 6, 2026
