PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today inspected final preparations for Budget 2027 at the Finance Ministry, a day before its tabling in the Dewan Rakyat.
Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, was received by Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan and Deputy Finance Minister Liew Chin Tong upon arrival at the ministry complex.
During the visit, Anwar met officers and staff involved in preparing the Budget and signed several documents related to Budget MADANI 2027.
A total of 255 officers and staff from various ministry divisions are involved in the preparation, including the Tax, Fiscal and Economic Division 55, International Division, National Budget Office and Budget Team.
Budget 2027 is scheduled to be tabled at 3.30 pm tomorrow.
Anwar has previously said the Budget would focus on protecting the people, strengthening the economy and laying the groundwork for more sustainable and inclusive development.
Its 10 key priorities include strengthening social justice and development, easing cost-of-living pressures and strengthening social protection.
Budget 2027 will be the fifth MADANI Budget and the second under the 13th Malaysia Plan. – October 8, 2026
