POLICE have referred the investigation into the alleged bullying of a 16-year-old student who suffered a ruptured spleen to the Negeri Sembilan State Legal Adviser’s Office for further instructions and action.
Seremban district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Yatim Osman said the investigation papers were referred to the legal office on Sunday.
“On Aug 11, at 8.45pm, the suspect, a 16-year-old Form Four student from the same school, was arrested to assist with investigations.
“The suspect was remanded for three days from Aug 12 to 14 before being released on police bail,” he said, according to Harian Metro.
The case is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
The case involves a 16-year-old boarding school student who was reportedly subjected to bullying in August and suffered a ruptured spleen, resulting in severe internal bleeding.
He reportedly lost about 2.5 litres of blood and underwent emergency surgery, during which doctors removed his spleen to save his life.
The case comes amid growing concern over the impact of bullying on adolescents, with recent reports highlighting mental health problems including depression, psychological distress and emotional disorders among young people subjected to bullying. October 8, 2026
