PAKATAN Harapan (PH) has identified potential candidates for the Nov 14 Melaka state election, with the coalition’s component parties now assessing the names before final selections are confirmed.

PH Melaka chairman Adly Zahari said the candidates had been identified, but the evaluation process was still under way.

“Candidates have been identified and are now being evaluated by the component parties within PH,” he told Utusan Malaysia.

On political cooperation ahead of the election, Adly said any decision would be made at a meeting of the PH Presidential Council.

“Political cooperation will be decided at a meeting of the PH Presidential Council,” he said.

Adly also said the 14-day campaign period would give candidates an opportunity to engage voters and conduct their respective campaigns.

The Election Commission chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun previously announced that polling for the 16th Melaka state election would take place on Nov 14.

Nomination day has been set for Oct 31, while early voting will be held on Nov 10.

The campaign period will begin after the declaration of candidates on Oct 31 and end at 11.59pm on Nov 13. - October 9, 2026
