KUALA LUMPUR – Parks under Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s (DBKL) purview have been closed until further notice, with the authority citing the movement control order that took effect today.

In a statement on Facebook, DBKL said the affected parks are Taman Botani Perdana, Taman Awam Bukit Kiara, Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, Taman Tasik Manjalara and Taman Tasik Metropolitan Kepong.

The closure includes facilities at these parks.

Under the National Security Council’s standard operating procedures, people are allowed to jog in groups of not more than two individuals, and can cycle alone.

DBKL told The Vibes that the decision to close the parks was made because it is difficult for the authorities to ensure compliance with the SOPs.

“If they do so (jog or cycle) outside DBKL parks, it is not under the council’s purview,” said a spokesman. – The Vibes, January 13, 2021
