KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has denied leaving an insulting comment on Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s Facebook page.

In a post yesterday, the Umno president “vehemently” denies having done so, saying the comment may have been posted by certain quarters with malicious intentions.

“I believe there are certain parties that deliberately left rude comments using my Facebook account, name and profile picture with malicious intent.

“Or, they edited the image of Facebook comments as if I wrote the comments with the intention of insulting Tan Sri Muhyiddin.”

Images of the comment have been widely shared on social media, showing the “Zahid Hamidi” Facebook account with a blue tick – which indicates a page is verified – mocking the prime minister as “bapak perutusan”, and claiming Community Communications Department (J-Kom) funding.

The controversial Special Affairs Department was recently rebranded as J-Kom, and received an allocation of RM85.5 million before the sum was slashed to RM40.5 million following public uproar. – The Vibes, February 10, 2021
