KOTA KINABALU – All public transport services, except for taxi and e-hailing, in Penampang, Putatan and here will temporarily cease operations starting tomorrow.
This is in line with the conditional movement control order (CMCO) imposed on these districts, which will be in effect until October 20, said Sabah Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) chairman Datuk Chin Kim Hiung.
He said taxis and e-hailing vehicles can operate from 6am to 8pm, while the window for food deliveries is 6am to 6pm.
Passengers and drivers are required to wear masks during rides, and there is a two-person limit for passengers per vehicle.
Vehicles must be regularly cleaned, and are not allowed to leave the CMCO areas.
Chin said the state CVLB headquarters here will be closed in this two-week period.
The government has barred outbound travel from Sabah from October 12 to 25 following a spike in Covid-19 infections.
Exemptions will be granted for certain cases, which must still get the Health Ministry’s approval. – The Vibes, October 6, 2020
