SEREMBAN – The son of former Felda chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad has refuted rumours that his father died tonight.

Mohamad Najib Mohd Isa, who is also Port Dickson Umno Youth chief, told Bernama that his dad is in good health.

“I understand that an audio clip on my father (passing away) has gone viral… all that’s not true, my father is well and healthy.

“We pray for him and for his long life, and that he is safe from any slander and persecution.”

Isa, 72, was Negri Sembilan menteri besar for 22 years from 1982. He was Teluk Kemang Umno chief from 1978 to 2017.

The 47-second clip, which is being widely shared via WhatsApp, claims that Isa died about 8pm.

Rumours of his death were previously reported in 2018 and 2019, but they were rubbished by his wife, Puan Sri Bibi Sharliza Mohd Khalid. – Bernama, May 27, 2021
