MELAKA – The Pakatan Harapan manifesto announcement today has been delayed due to the large number of media personnel and guests.

Police visited the function room of a hotel here to ensure social distancing and Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) are adhered to.

The police also took photographs and videos of the function room.

The master of ceremonies announced that police had warned that anyone caught not wearing masks will be compounded on the spot.

The event scheduled for 5pm is yet to begin as hotel staff were asked to expand the function room to accommodate the large number of attendees estimated about 80 people.

This was in stark contrast earlier to the BN manifesto launch in Ayer Keroh, which was held in a smaller room with bigger media presence.

There were no reminders from the organiser to adhere to the SOPs and no police presence to monitor the event. – The Vibes, November 10, 2021
