KUALA LUMPUR – Umno’s Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin has congratulated Rafizi Ramli for winning PKR’s deputy presidency.

In an Instagram post, Khairy applauded Rafizi’s return to active politics despite being on the other side of the political divide.

“Congratulations @rafiziramli on winning the deputy presidency of PKR and welcome back to active politics. I have always said that you are the most talented politician of our generation and wish you all the best (despite being on the opposing team),’’ he said.

Rafizi had outperformed contender Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail by a huge margin, according to unofficial results posted on the party’s election site.

The recently concluded PKR election showed many party old guards unseated from their posts, such as former PKR vice-president Chua Tian Chang losing out the Batu division chief post to P. Prabakaran.

Another upset was Kedah PKR Datuk Johari Abdul, who lost his Sg Petani division to Bakar Arang assemblyman Simon Ooi Tze Min.

Unofficial results also showed former youth activist Adam Adli clinching the PKR Youth chief post. – The Vibes, May 30, 2022
