KUALA LUMPUR – Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is confident that Islamist party PAS will remain with the coalition for the coming 15th general election (GE15).

Muhyiddin said “Insya-Allah, Insya-Allah” (“God-willing”), reiterating that all parties within PN remain “istiqamah” (committed).

Muhyiddin was speaking to the press following PN’s supreme council meeting in Kuala Lumpur earlier tonight.

PN’s meeting was followed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s royal audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong earlier today, following a flurry of rumours that Parliament will be dissolved within the year.

When asked by reporters what was discussed by PN top leaders, Muhyiddin said election preparation was the main agenda as well as their people-friendly initiatives.

He further said that the meeting held on election preparations was nothing new but stressed that he has no knowledge of when Parliament will likely be dissolved.

“The meeting was to coordinate all machinery under PN. So in the PN meeting, we have agreed for all (election) machinery to move under the PN banner.

“That means this includes Bersatu, PAS, Gerakan, SAPP and Star. That is what we have agreed on,” he said.

Previously, Muhyiddin had stated that PAS is firmly with PN and stressed that there is no concern that the latter will leave the coalition. – The Vibes, October 6, 2022
