KUALA LUMPUR – The Titiwangsa federal seat has returned to Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Seri Johari Ghani, who emerged as the champion of a four-cornered fight for the parliamentary constituency.

Johari triumphed over his close competitor, Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) Khalid Abdul Samad, by 4,632 votes.

The former secured 25,042 votes while the latter garnered the backing of 20,410 voters.

Khalid, who was a three-term Shah Alam MP, had also been the federal territories minister during PH’s time in Putrajaya.

Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) candidate Dr Rosni Adam managed to get 14,518 votes. Pejuang’s Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan lost his deposit after only gaining 888 votes.

Johari had previously helmed Titiwangsa from 2013 to 2018 when he lost the seat to Datuk Seri Rina Harun in the 14th general election.

Titiwangsa saw a total of 80,747 registered voters. – The Vibes, November 20, 2022
