KUALA LUMPUR – National men’s hockey team manager Datuk Mirnawan Nawawi assured the team is fully focused on their upcoming match against Spain.

He said the overall mood in the camp is positive, as the team gave the players some time to go out and enjoy a day off.

“After the win against New Zealand, we encouraged the players to go out and get their minds off hockey for a while.

“We want them to compose their emotions as they have been resting and going through recovery,” he told reporters.

Mirnawan said that today’s field training session was focused on the tactical play head coach A. Arul Selvaraj wants to implement in the next match against Spain.

“We hope the mood stays the same and that the players are physically and mentally prepared to face Spain.

“We will have another meeting tonight so coach Arul can explain his tactics to the players,” he added.
