KOTA KINABALU – Former foreign minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman has been appointed special adviser on international relations and foreign investment to Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

Anifah, 69, a former MP for Kimanis, received the letter of appointment from Hajiji at the chief minister’s office in Menara Kinabalu today.

In a statement, Hajiji expressed confidence that the appointment of Anifah, who has extensive experience in international relations, can help the state government establish good relations with other countries and foreign investors, in line with its investor-friendly policies.

Meanwhile, Hajiji earlier today received a courtesy visit from federal Deputy Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup.

He was briefed by Kurup on the federal ministry’s collaboration project with state departments and agencies as well as programmes that have been and will be implemented in Sabah.

Hajiji wants the Science, Technology, and Innovation Ministry through its departments and agencies to help Sabah boost development in science-related fields, including channelling various funds and initiatives offered by the ministry to the state. – The Vibes, January 30, 2023
