GEORGE TOWN – Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah said the role of the Penang State Islamic Religious Council (MAINPP) members and shariah judges comes with great responsibility, as they have been entrusted with the administration of Islam in the state.

His Majesty hopes the appointment can encourage the parties concerned to continue to uphold Islamic law perfectly.

“I am proud to present the instruments of appointment to MAINPP members and shariah judges. I want to remind you that this appointment has a significant meaning with great responsibility and trust from Allah for us to manage the administration of Islam.

“I am impressed with the administration of Islamic affairs in Penang, which is managed well under the auspices of MAINPP under the Penang Yang di-Pertua Negeri,” said His Majesty.
