JOHOR BARU – The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar granted an audience to Indonesian Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto at Istana Bukit Serene here today.

The matter was announced in a post on Sultan Ibrahim’s official Facebook page, accompanied by several pictures.

Tunku Mahkota of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim was also present at the meeting.

According to the post, Prabowo has been a close friend of Sultan Ibrahim for over 40 years since undergoing military training together at Fort Bragg and Fort Benning, United States, in the 1980s.

The Johor ruler also hosted a luncheon during the meeting which took place for over an hour.

On May 23, it was reported that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim received a courtesy call from Prabowo during the Indonesian Defence Minister’s special visit to Malaysia in conjunction with the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition in Langkawi, Kedah. – Bernama, June 2, 2023
