PETALING JAYA – Anthony Loke today confirmed that he would be defending the Chennah state seat in the coming Negri Sembilan election.

Loke, who is also Seremban MP, told this to reporters when met in Pekan Titi, Jelebu earlier today.

He said his decision to defend the seat was taken after due consideration.

“I found that about 90% of the Chinese community and more than 50% of the Malays in the constituency wanted me to contest and defend the seat,” he said.

This, he said, was proof that DAP leaders also received support from the Malay community.

In the last general election, Loke, who is also Negri Sembilan DAP chief, defended Chennah which he had won in the 13th general election with a 1,155-vote majority. – The Vibes, July 15, 2023
