PETALING JAYA - Those travelling along Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra in Kota Bharu yesterday were shocked when a child suddenly tumbled out of a moving car while it was navigating a U-turn.
The child popped out of the left back door and landed on the road in the middle of the busy traffic light intersection.
A dashcam footage timestamped Oct 17 at 5.41pm went viral, with netizens on various social media platforms expressing their shock at what happened.
As there were many cars negotiating a U-turn at the time, the child was immediately grazed by a white car. The child, obviously in shock, got up but was hit by another red car. The child fell on the road as a result of the impact but was able to stand up, not knowing where to go.
A good samaritan on a bike immediately scooped the child onto his bike to get out of harm's way.
The red car stopped by the side of the road and the biker brought the child to the side as well, waiting for the car the child fell out from.
It is believed the child was handed back to the occupants of the car.
Speaking to the NST, Kelantan Traffic Enforcement Investigation Department chief Superintendent Suhaimi Jusoh said cops were now looking for the driver of the car (which the child fell from) but confirmed that no one has lodged a report over the incident.
He urged eyewitnesses to come forward to assist in the investigation by contacting investigation officer Inspector Khairul Anuar Abdul Aziz at 09-7752355.
He said they are pursuing the case for reckless and dangerous driving. - The Vibes, October 18, 2023
