“THREE lions on a shirt. It is coming home. It’s coming.”
Those were the lyrics from the song, Three Lions by English comedians David Baddiel and Frank Skinner, and The Lightning Seeds that came out in 1996.
Yet, it has never come true since England’s only title claim in the FIFA World Cup in 1966.
They came close in 1990 and 2018 but made it to fourth place after losing to Italy and Belgium in the semifinal, respectively.
Could 2022 be their year? Their fans would certainly hope so, including one in particular, The Vibes marketing consultant Anne Edwards.
In today’s episode, Anne, who is a MotoGP and Formula One fan, said she came to be an England fan because her father is a loyal supporter.
“I remember every time my father watched an England match, he would never fall asleep. He is so focused.
“So, for this year’s World Cup knockout stage, I will be coming home to watch England vs Senegal with him. I look forward to it,” she said during the podcast interview.
