NATIONAL squash ace Ng Eain Yow successfully defended his men's singles gold medal after defeating India's Abhay Singh 11-9, 11-5, 11-5 in the final at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games at the Nagoya Kinjofuto Arena today.
Eain Yow, 28—who was also the champion at the Hangzhou 2022 edition—delivered a spirited yet composed performance to defeat Abhay once again, thereby repeating the gold-medal feat he achieved four years ago.
This victory also saw the Kuala Lumpur-born player secure an early qualification spot for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
This gold medal marks Malaysia's fifth at Aichi-Nagoya 2026, following two golds in karate and one each in esports and sepak takraw.
Eain Yow previously held a perfect record against Abhay, having won all four of their prior encounters, the most recent of which took place at the 2024 Malaysian Squash Cup. – September 27, 2026
