KUALA LUMPUR – The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) President Tan Sri Norza Zakaria wished 71-year-old Rudy Hartono (pix) a speedy recovery on hearing that the eight time All England Champion collapsed this morning and suffered a stroke after a walk.

Hartono, a living legend, is being hospitalised at the Siloam Hospital in Pondok Indah Jakarta and there have been no further reports on his condition.

Tan Sri Norza added that all of the team at BAM are praying that the family will stay strong in these challenging times.

Former President of BAM, Tengku Tan Sri Mahaleel said, he hopes that Hartono has the same strength to come out of this sudden ailment as he had the strength to become an eight time All England winner.

He recollected that Hartono is a natural talent who is equally adept at playing both the stroke and the fast pace games. – The Vibes, September 26, 2020.
