Can Timo continue his form in the Champions League?

Hey football fans!

Last week we already got a small taste, and this week the second half of the Champions League round of 16 matches will be played. We have another beautiful battle awaiting you so here are our top tips for this match round!

Chelsea has been undefeated ever since Thomas Tuchel took over at the club. With five victories and two draws, Chelsea fans are not too sad about Frank Lampard leaving at the helm of the club where he became a legend. Another person who is happy Tuchel has settled in West-London is striker Timo Werner.

The German had a slow start but ever since his fellow countryman started managing, Werner seems to be more comfortable at The Blues. With a goal and an assist in his last three games, Werner is finding back his form as a deadly number 9 and he will be looking to add to his three Champions League goals and one assist he currently has when Chelsea face off against Atletico Madrid.

At €11.255 and with an expected match rating of 6.2, Timo Werner is definitely one to watch.

Secondly, we want to mention another German player who also had a rough start at his new club this season. Leroy Sané moved from Manchester City to Bayern Munich this summer, and expectations were high for the winger.

It seemed like Sané had trouble adapting at the club in Munich but in the last few matches he has shown glimpses of the player we know Sané can be. He has three assists in his last four games so when Bayern play Lazio Roma, his fellow attackers will obviously look for a key pass from Sané.

He costs a hefty €13.525 but with an expected match rating of 6.3, that price might very well go up with a good performance.

Real Madrid are struggling hard with injuries at the moment. For their Champions League game against Atalanta this week, Zindedine Zidane has access to only 11 first-team players.

Although maybe not the best news for people who hope Real Madrid fare well, this might be positive for some other people, in particular players who might get an opportunity that would otherwise be difficult to attain.

Think of players like Víctor Chust, Miguel Gutiérrez, Sergio Arribas, Antonio Blanco and Hugo Duro.

However, we want to highlight one player and that is Mariano Díaz. Karim Benzema is injured, so Mariano makes a good chance for that number 9 spot at Real. At €12.982 he seems pricey, but his low expected match rating of 5.8 makes him a much more attractive option for your portfolio.

That’s all from us! another week of Champions League fixtures and if they are even half as good as the fixtures last week, we’ll be in for a treat. Don’t forget to join the “The Vibes”  battle to show you are the real football genius! - The Vibes, February 23, 2021
