KUALA LUMPUR - Turkey continues to be a happy hunting ground for the Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) when their Colombian rider Carlos Quintero won the Grand Prix (GP) Gundogmus, today.

The 35-year-old completed the 103.5km race for his second title after emerging victorious at the GP Velo Alanya two weeks ago, while teammate Metkel Eyob of Eritrea came in second. Franklin Archibold of Panama's Cultural and Values team completed the podium.

“I am very happy for myself and the team... we were always together throughout the race. Unbelievable,” he reacted in a short video obtained from the team.

A day before Carlos’ first win, Malaysian sprinter Mohd Harrif Saleh triumphed in the GP Velo Manavgat, another 1.2 (one-day) race in the International Cycling Union (UCI) European Tour calendar.

Meanwhile in the GP Mediterranean yesterday, Mohd Harrif finished fourth, while compatriots Irwandie Lakasek and Wan Abdul Rahman Hamdan came in sixth and eighth respectively. - Bernama, 8 March, 2021
