KOTA KINABALU – Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Noor has called for intensified efforts to unearth and groom young football talents in the state.

Hajiji said this was important to ensure that Sabah could produce more local footballers of high calibre.

“I want more emphasis to be given to youth and sports development, especially football.

“Sabah FC is in the best position to provide this platform for training young players under the best coaches,” he said when launching the Sabah FC team kit for the Super League this season here today.

Hajiji said he was glad that the new kit incorporated local elements like the Linangkit and Mount Kinabalu contours, as such branding could help to generate income for the team.
