KUALA LUMPUR – Sultan Ibrahim Stadium (SSI) continues to receive international recognition as the home of Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) has been invited to become Malaysia’s first representative in the Venue Management Association (VMA) in Asia and the Pacific.
In an official statement issued through Twitter today, JDT said that international observers were impressed with its professional management and upkeep of the stadium, as well as its stature.

VMA is the body for venue industry professionals in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia with over 900 members, representing over 300 major venues from diverse venue sectors including sporting and non-sporting venues.
“Sultan Ibrahim Stadium has been invited to be part of the 30th Asia-Pacific Venue Industry Congress hosted on May 21-23 in Melbourne, Australia.
“The invitation to Sultan Ibrahim Stadium is an indication of the continued recognition for the stadium since it was opened in February 2020,” read the statement.
The home of the Southern Tigers beat 19 other candidates, including the English Premier League club Brentford’s Brentford Community Stadium, and former 2022 World Cup venue Education City Stadium in Qatar.
