KUALA LUMPUR – Nine-time Malaysian Super League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) will launch their official $JDT Fan Token on the Socios.com fan engagement and rewards app on July 5.

Fifty thousand $JDT Fan Tokens will be made available at $1 via a Fan Token Offering (FTO) that will kick off at 6pm local time (GMT+8), with purchases being capped at 100 tokens during the first 24 hours to ensure as many JDT fans as possible can access this unique opportunity.

“The JDT Fan Token will provide the club’s fans worldwide with a new platform to connect and engage with the team through the Socios.com app.

“It will allow them to partake in fan-related decisions such as product and facility designs or in-stadium celebration songs by voting on polls.

“They can also enjoy special content, promotions and discounts and access exclusive rewards, from match-worn shirts to VIP tickets and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities such as meet and greets with players and legends,” the club said in a statement.

Immediately after the FTO kicks off, the first fan poll will be launched on Socios.com, where fans owning at least one $JDT Fan Token will be able to vote.

The poll’s subject will be revealed soon.

One $JDT Fan Token will be enough to vote on all the polls launched by the club and to take part in Socios.com’s multiple JDT-themed features.

But the more $JDT Fan Tokens one owns, the higher the influence one has and the more chances one will have to earn rewards.

“The benefits of being a JDT Fan Token holder expand beyond the Socios.com app.

“Holding $JDT Fan Tokens will unlock special discounts and promotions across a wide range of businesses in Malaysia, including restaurants (KFC, Woodfire, Coppola), cinemas (GSC) and amusement parks (xPark),” the club added.

Powered by Chiliz, the sports blockchain, Socios.com is a direct-to-consumer platform that leverages blockchain technology to provide the world’s leading sporting organisations with a tool to engage with and reward their global fanbases.

The Socios.com app currently hosts a global digital community of nearly 2 million fans from 160 different countries.

More than 150 organisations across 25 countries and 10 different sport verticals have partnered with Socios.com since the app was launched in 2019.

The roster includes football giants Manchester City, FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal FC, Atletico Madrid, Corinthians and Palmeiras, among many others.

JDT is the first Malaysian team to join the platform’s global roster.

JDT CEO Alistair Edwards said the $JDT Fan Token will give the club an opportunity to reward their fans for their loyalty and support.

“Our fans mean everything to JDT…the $JDT Fan Token will allow us to feel closer than ever and to reward them for their invaluable loyalty and support.

“We are delighted with this launch, excited about the multiple opportunities that this new tool will bring to the club and our fans, and proud to be featured alongside some of the biggest clubs in the world as part of Socios.com’s global roster of partners.” – The Vibes, June 22, 2023
