The pumpkin, weighing1,279 kilograms and measuring almost 6.5 metres in circumference, is owned by twin brothers Ian and Stuart Paton, 64 and is the new heaviest and longest pumpkin on the planet.

The brothers, from Lymington in Hampshire, have spent about six hours every day tending to their crop of squashes inside a giant greenhouse to control the temperatures and optimise their growth.
