Datuk Seri Panglima Shafie bin Apdal (Jawi: محمد شافعي بن افضل; born 20 October 1956) is a Malaysian politician who is the 15th and current Chief Minister of Sabah as well the State Finance Minister.^[1] He currently serves as the Member of Parliament for Semporna, Sabah and ADUN for Senallang. He was once the federal Minister of Rural and Regional Development and also one of the three former vice-presidents of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), once the leading party in the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition that governed Malaysia. He is currently a member and founder of Sabah Heritage Party (WARISAN), the ruling party in Sabah that is allied to Malaysia's former ruling coalition of Pakatan Harapan (PH).
