KUALA LUMPUR – Sime Darby Plantation Bhd (SDP) has withdrawn its discovery application filed against Liberty Shared managing director Duncan Jepson in the eastern district of Virginia, the United States.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, it said the application was predicated on the company’s understanding that an investigation has commenced as a result of a complaint lodged by Jepson to Securities Commission Malaysia (SC).

SDP said Jepson, in his complaint, alleged wrongful disclosures in SDP’s Sustainability Report 2019, and that SC subsequently sought additional information from the firm.

“It has since been clarified by SC that there is no investigation into the complaint at present,” said the company.

“Accordingly, SDP has withdrawn the discovery application.” – Bernama, March 16, 2021
