BRUNEIAN rappers WhoSyah and Swanz have teamed up for a collaborative single titled ‘Lupa’.

The poignant track dropped on music streaming platforms on August 27, alongside a music video posted on YouTube.

According to the rappers, ‘Lupa’ features melancholic guitar, hard-hitting 808s, and trap drums as both rappers sing –  with their complementing vocal styles – about forgetting any recollections of their former partners.

The track resonates with the lyrics “Lupakan memori kita bersama / Lupa segala masalah yang ada di minda”, which loosely translates as “Forget our memories together / Forget all the problems in your mind”, in which both rappers descant over the upbeat yet heart-rending production.

‘Lupa’ was co-written and engineered by Swanz, who has worked with the likes of other hip hop names such as ASMAI, Yonnyboii, Quai, and most recently ForceParkBois.

The song serves as the second preview of WhoSyah’s upcoming debut album, which is tipped for release in early 2022.

However, details of the album, including its official release date and title, are yet to be announced. Nevertheless, WhoSyah teased the album by releasing its first dreary single ‘Lepaskan’ back in April.

Meanwhile, the music video features WhoSyah and Swanz singing on rooftops and sidewalks, while the music video was directed by an acclaimed Bruneian video producer, Mancientry, who had also produced both WhoSyah and Swanz’s previous videos.

WhoSyah kickstarted his music career with the help of Swanz in April 2020, releasing standalone singles such as 'Tanya' and 'X Kesah'.

Also known among peers as The Kid LAROI of Brunei, WhoSyah indicated that his musical style has consistently evolved since he started working closely with Swanz.

Swanz, on the other hand, initiated his music journey in 2017 with a few significant collaborations including 'No Clue' featuring Quai and 'Onana' featuring Yonnyboii. He also released and full-length album with Riff titled 'Under Control' the same year.

Swanz had also recently reproduced ForceParkBois’ 'LOTUS', and currently producing records for ASMAI. – The Vibes, September 5, 2021
