IN conjunction with the Deepavali celebrations on Oct 20, Hindu students and academic staff at all institutions of higher learning (IPTA) including public universities, politechnics and community colleges can do online or hybrid learning and teaching (PdP).

The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) in a statement said this will take effect from Oct 16 - 24.

"However, the implementation will depend on the suitability of each academic programme at the relevant institutions, to ensure there are no disruptions.

"MOHE decided on this to give all Hindu students and academic staff the opportunity to celebrate Deepavali with their families in a more meaningful and harmonious environment," read the statement.

MOHE also wished students, academic staff  and all Malaysians a Happy Deepavali. - October 14, 2025
