SCHOOL sessions nationwide will continue as usual, and no decisions have been made regarding the implementation of Home-Based Teaching and Learning (PdPR).
The Ministry of Education said its priority is to ensure that learning is not disrupted, while at the same time safeguarding the welfare and well-being of all parties.
In a statement, the ministry said it is aware of the concerns raised by the public following viral reports suggesting that PdPR may be introduced.
"The Ministry is concerned about the news that has gone viral about the possibility of implementing PdPR.
“Currently, school sessions are running as usual, and no decisions have been made regarding the implementation of PdPR.
"The MOE's priority is to ensure that children's learning is not affected, in addition to ensuring that the welfare and well-being of all parties are always protected," it said.
The ministry also stressed that it remains attentive to public concerns and will continue to monitor the situation closely.
Last Friday, Unity Government spokesman Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the Prime Minister had instructed top civil service leaders to conduct a comprehensive review of the work-from-home (WFH) proposal to ensure administrative consistency.
He also said the Chief Secretary to the Government and the Public Service Department director-general were tasked with examining the policy's feasibility and coordination.
The findings of this review will be tabled and a decision reached tomorrow. – March 16, 2026
