THE Ministry of Education (MOE) will submit a proposal to the Cabinet next week to review requirements governing the ownership structure of tuition centres, following concerns raised over the existing provisions.
The ministry said the requirements had been detailed in its Private Education Institutions Policy Book, published in 2006.
“The Ministry of Education (MOE) takes note of the various views raised regarding the provision and is always open to hearing the views of all parties.
“MOE believes that the education space should remain open to all parties who wish to contribute to the development and learning of Malaysian children,” it said in a statement on Sunday.
The ministry said it would therefore put forward a proposal to review the requirements on tuition centre ownership structure for consideration by the Cabinet next week.
“MOE appreciates the contributions of tuition centre operators over the years and will continue to work with all parties in the interests of the education of Malaysian children,” it said. - September 20, 2026
