A VIRAL video of former Malaysian Paralympic swimmer Koh Lee Peng breaking down in public near Pavilion Kuala Lumpur has stirred concern and sympathy among Malaysians.

The footage, shared on Facebook, shows Koh visibly distraught while seated in her wheelchair along a walkway in the Bukit Bintang area.

According to the accompanying caption, Koh has been selling tissues outside the shopping complex for some time as a means of supporting herself financially.

The post also highlighted her past as a national athlete, noting that she had represented Malaysia in regional competitions, including the ASEAN Para Games, where she reportedly secured multiple medals during her career.

It added that, following her retirement from competitive sports, financial and personal challenges may have led her to her current circumstances.

In the comments section, many expressed concern over her emotional state, with some suggesting that such a public breakdown indicated she may have been overwhelmed.

“Yes, nobody suddenly cries in the street! Unless they really break down! Did something happen to her that made her like this? She’s always been so strong before,” one commenter wrote.

Others speculated that her motorised wheelchair might have been damaged after an alleged collision with a passing vehicle, though there has been no official confirmation of the claim.

“Comments claimed that her wheelchair was damaged after being hit by a passing vehicle,” another user alleged.
