A SECURITY guard at Hospital Kajang has drawn praise online after visitors shared stories of his kindness and willingness to help patients and their families.
The guard, identified as Nagenthiran by a family member in the comments, is stationed near the hospital’s ICU and Ward 1.
A Threads user, @aliffaim3n._, recently shared a post recalling how Nagenthiran helped the user’s mother get into their car after she was discharged from the hospital two years ago.
The user said his mother had spent 12 days in hospital, including time in the ICU, and was too weak to get out of her wheelchair on her own.
“We were helpless. He quickly came and helped us carry her from the wheelchair into the car,” the user wrote.
When the user returned to the hospital recently to visit an acquaintance, he was surprised to find Nagenthiran still working there.
He said the guard continued to greet motorists, help drivers manoeuvre through the narrow parking area and answer visitors’ questions politely.
“Every time a car passes to exit the gate, he raises his hand to wave. He helps us adjust our cars when parking because the space there is narrow and difficult.
“Whenever people ask him questions, he always smiles and answers politely,” he wrote.
The user also noted that Nagenthiran remained focused while on duty and did not appear distracted by his phone.
“He doesn’t even play on his phone at all! May he be blessed with good health and prosperity. Malaysia needs more good people like him,” he wrote.
The post prompted others to share their own experiences with the guard.
One commenter said she had been discharged from the hospital the previous week when Nagenthiran recognised her family’s car and came over to help carry their bags and belongings.
Another recalled the help she received while caring for her late eldest sister and brother-in-law, saying the hospital’s security guards would recognise the family during visiting hours.
“Most of the guards here at Kajang Hospital are really accommodating,” she said.
The original poster also hoped Hospital Kajang’s management would recognise Nagenthiran for his work and the help he continues to provide to patients and visitors.
For families dealing with the stress of hospital stays and discharges, his small acts of assistance have clearly not gone unnoticed. – September 15, 2026
