Say what you want, but the heart eyes smile carries a lot of weight. So do the other emoticons that have proven to be a cultural phenomenon shaping how we express ideas and emotions across languages, even generations, in this new era.
Emojis are certainly much more than just fun characters we exchange in modern-day communication, as it is the ultimate representation of the digital age that is behind most of today’s motivations.
In fact, Adobe’s 2021 Global Emoji Trend Report highlighted the primary role emojis now play in digital communication. The majority (around 88% of emoji users across the US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Australia, and South Korea) who utilize emojis are compelled to feel more empathy towards others.
What is also interesting from the survey is that 55% of the respondents note they are more comfortable expressing their emotions via emojis as compared to phone conversations.
