RAMADAN is well underway, and a big positive of this festive season is the seeming torrent of promotions and special offers by various brands and restaurants aimed at the deal-hunting customer. As is fitting for the month of fasting many of the deals involve food, given that families big and small might want to indulge in a feast on occasion.
Here are seven deals that might strike your fancy:
McDonald’s Malaysia offers more menu item choices and best value Duo Set meal

McDonald’s Malaysia is offering customers more menu item choices at great value, as an alternative to their popular french fries until the global supply chain situation normalises. Customers have the option to choose either a sundae or a warm apple pie instead of french fries with every order of a Medium McValue Meal.
They can also opt for the Duo Set, a two-piece set meal comprising any food item with a drink, starting from RM7.90.
Currently, customers are still able to purchase french fries with their Medium McValue, based on the current remaining supply.

Baking supplies chain Bake With Yen launches promotions for the festive season
In conjunction with the opening of its new superstore in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, baking supplies chain store Bake With Yen (BWY) rolled out a new program for Malaysian bakers, with the slogan ‘Raya Penu-Penuh’, that brings low prices for popular baking essentials.
Brands participating in the BWY price initiative include Lurpak, Anchor, Oreo and Nutella, amongst many others. There is also a price lock on over 100 items from BWY’s in-house products throughout Ramadan and going into May.
Some of BWY’s in-house products that they are highlighting include the ‘Nasi Lemak Crunchy Cookie’ premix.

Seemingly counterintuitive, the savoury cookie, though it obviously lacks a lot of the textural variety of nasi lemak – the fluffy rice, spicy sambal, crunchy anchovies and peanuts, refreshing cucumber – does recall some aspects of the dish.
In addition to price promotions, the ‘Raya Penuh-Penuh’ initiative also includes a trade-in partnership with kitchen equipment provider Innofood. Bakers can upgrade their mixers by bringing in their current ones for an upgrade.
