Apple Vacations Sdn Bhd group managing director Datuk Seri Koh Yock Heng said the purpose of the travel fair being hosted is because Covid has created a supply-chain problem. The travel company aims to help in the effort of alleviating the condition.

“What I mean by this is that the services that support travel and/or vacation needs are lower in availability than in pre-pandemic times.

“For instance, airlines have fewer flight frequencies with at least a 50% drop, so in this case a flight to-and-from Bangkok which would usually have seven to eight flights a day will only have three.

“In order to accommodate demands better and avoid travel complications, booking early is a solution, aside from the chance to gain early bird prices.

“This is also where our role as a travel expert come to light – where we educate customers to avoid last-minute booking and land the best deals to make their dream trip possible.

“The latter have a stronger desire to embark on a post-pandemic escape after two years of not being able to see the world (in that sense).

“Here today, you mostly see middle-to-upper income groups that are much older. These demographics have less considerations to make and are more relaxed.

“Of course, we don’t tailor our packages to suit specific age groups per se but more on destinations that are friendly to travellers.
