SHAHIRA Ahmed Bazari will end her tenure as Yayasan Hasanah trustee and managing director on May 1 after helming the position for the past nine years to assume a new role with Khazanah Nasional Berhad.

Yayasan Hasanah said a new managing director will be announced soon,

The foundation, which is the philanthropic arm of Khazanah Nasional, said Shahira’s contribution has made a significant impact to the nation across Yayasan Hasanah’s five focus areas.

It added that at the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, Shahira and her team coordinated public-private-philanthropic partnerships resulting in a record funding to communities in need.

Under Shahira’s leadership, Yayasan Hasanah has deployed RM1.5 billion in grants to more than 700 projects nationwide, reaching 2.9 million people in Malaysia.

She also played an instrumental role in transforming Malaysia’s social impact ecosystem with forward looking approaches in philanthropy, social investments, impact measurements, and various social innovation models, added the foundation in a statement today.

“Shahira leaves an enduring impression in Yayasan Hasanah. Her leadership and dedication are well evident in the accomplishment of Yayasan Hasanah,” said chairman of Yayasan Hasanah’s board of trustees Md Nor Yusof.

“The Yayasan has evolved from a donation-driven CSR unit of Khazanah to become an acknowledged philanthropic institution. We wish her well in her next endeavour,” he added.

Shahira was instrumental in setting up Yayasan Hasanah, a grant-making foundation that brings corporations, civil society organisations, charities and other changemakers together to execute initiatives that create positive change in the nation. – The Vibes, April 19, 2024.
