THE political secretaries to Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Openg today lodged a police report against the writer of three opinion pieces which allegedly insulted and tarnished the reputation of the premier.
The report, lodged at the Satok police station by Nyomek Nyeap, was against the May 24 opinion piece “When will Abang Jo's Luck Run Out” by a writer writing under the pseudonym, TheRealNehruism, the second “A Challenge To You Abang Jo, If You Are As Great As You Think You Are” by the online portal Malaysia Today.Net on June 8 and “RM2K Legal Fee Is All I Can Afford If Abang Jo Wants To Nail Me; Beyond That, He Can Just Throw Me Into Jail”.
Nyomek claimed the writer “TheRealNehruism” was the author of all the three articles.
In his report, Nyomek alleged the articles demeaned the premier.
That, he added, was a serious matter as it was made to tarnish the credibility of the premier.
Nyomek said the personal attacks against Abang Johari could not be ignored as the writer's actions were designed to stir dissatisfaction among the people of Sarawak which could undermine the existing harmony in the state.
Seven other political secretaries accompanied Nyomek to the Satok police station.
It is also understood that similar police reports will be lodged by the premier's political secretaries in areas they are residing. – June 13, 2024.
