THE Kuala Sungai Baru Village Residents Welfare Organisation (KKSB) has urged the government to review the results of the gas pipeline explosion disaster report in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, in addition to appointing an independent body to ensure that the investigation is conducted transparently.
KKSB Secretary, Mohd Badly Nordin, said the decision not to take further action (NFA) raises questions about the transparency of the investigation and seems to deny the victims' right to justice.
"The victims who were injured, suffered property losses and lifelong trauma have the right to know the true cause of the tragedy and the responsible parties," he said in a statement today.
Mohd Badly also asked the state government to provide a detailed explanation on the distribution of home repair assistance to avoid injustice between housing areas and villages.
Previously, the gas pipeline explosion incident that occurred in Putra Heights was classified as an NFA by Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, after the investigation found no elements of negligence or sabotage.
However, he reportedly said the investigation would continue if there was new evidence or testimony.
Mohd Badly stressed that KKSB would continue to fight for the rights of the residents, including demanding the establishment of an Independent Commission of Inquiry and full disclosure of the results of the technical and forensic investigations. - July 2, 2025
