THE Ministry of Finance has announced a modest rise in the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia, increasing it by three sen to RM2.88 per litre for the period of 10 to 16 July 2025.
The revision reflects upward movement in global oil prices over recent weeks.
“The retail price remains lower than the RM3.35 per litre when it was first floated on 10 June 2024,” the ministry noted in a statement, reaffirming the Government’s intention to maintain price stability while responding to market fluctuations.
Fuel prices for the week, determined using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM), are as follows:
- RON97 petrol holds steady at RM3.18 per litre;
- RON95 petrol remains at RM2.05 per litre;
- Diesel in Peninsular Malaysia increases from RM2.85 to RM2.88 per litre; and
- Diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan remains unchanged at RM2.15 per litre.
“The Government will continue to monitor global oil price trends and take appropriate measures to safeguard the welfare and well-being of the people,” the ministry added.
The adjustment is part of the Government’s strategy to balance fiscal responsibility with public affordability, amid the ongoing volatility in international energy markets. - July 9, 2025
