PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on voters in Negeri Sembilan to place their confidence in Pakatan Harapan (PH) by granting the coalition a stronger mandate in the upcoming state election.
Anwar, who is also PH chairman and PKR president, said the support would ensure the continuation of a clean, stable and integrity-driven administration under Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
In a Facebook post, Anwar said the state government had pursued various initiatives since PH assumed control of the Negeri Sembilan administration in 2018, but acknowledged that more work remained to ensure continued progress and wider benefits for the people.
"Since 2018, various initiatives have been undertaken. However, much remains to be continued so that prosperity can be enjoyed by all the people of Negeri Sembilan," he said.
Anwar also expressed his hopes that all PH candidates contesting in the state election would be given the strength to carry out their responsibilities, have their affairs eased and achieve the best possible outcome.
"May all PH candidates be granted strength, have all their affairs eased and be given the best success. To Allah SWT, we surrender," he said.
The Election Commission has fixed August 1 as polling day for the Negeri Sembilan state election, with 103 candidates confirmed to contest 36 State Legislative Assembly seats.
PH is contesting all 36 seats, while Barisan Nasional is fielding candidates in 25 constituencies, BERSATU in 24 seats, Perikatan Nasional in 11 seats and four Independent candidates are also participating in the election.
Other parties contesting include Barisan Jemaah Islamiah Se-Malaysia (BERJASA), Parti Orang Asli Malaysia (ASLI) and Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM), with each fielding one candidate. - July 19, 2026
